About ECS courses
Ever since it was only a thought in our heads, we have been committed to delivering world-class language service and courses. This orientation is not confined to the quality of service we provide and how we deal with our customers. The concept of world-class to us means, in addition to service quality, that what we offer should meet the needs of global citizens and help anyone with an international outlook to obtain something that easily compares to similar products and is accepted in many countries of the world today.
Choosing a global standard in learning, teaching and testing
In our courses, we adopt the Common European Framework of Reference for languages.
“The Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) provides a basis for the mutual recognition of language qualifications, thus facilitating educational and occupational mobility. It is increasingly used in the reform of national curricula and by international consortia for the comparison of language certificates.” – The Council of Europe’s website <http://www.coe.int/t/dg4/linguistic/cadre_en.asp>
The CEFR does not only guarantee the high standard of our courses and the feasibility of course administration, but also ensures our customers that what they get from us is up to internationally recognized standards.
Working with the CEFR means that a language course certificate can count anywhere. At least, if you obtain a course within the CEFR scheme, you can go anywhere and continue your language progress in the same way you’re familiar with. In short, it can help you build a reliable and solid language profile without having to stick to one particular course provider which may limit your mobility.
The CEFR and language qualifications
A language learner is always concerned about the certificate s/he obtains at the end of a course. They always look for a place that is accredited where they can go and take a course or series of courses. If you ask about the reason, they tell you they want something that counts in their CVs when applying for a job.
The truth about language proficiency needs some clarification, however. Big names in the language courses industry give an indication about the quality of the service they provide, but never about how proficient you’ll be after finishing one or more of their courses. Goals can be clearly set at the outset, but it depends on you to make the progress you desire.
A proof of language ability then is not the course certificate. If you want to validate your language proficiency, what you need is a standardised test certificate. There’s a variety of those tests that you can take depending on your needs. Luckily enough, most of these tests, and all the common ones, are mapped on the CEFR. Common tests are:
The IELTS and TOEFL are most commonly required from immigrants and overseas students. If you need to get at least 4 out of 9 in the IELTS, you should be at level B1 of the CEFR. If you are at level C2, you can get 9.
Any of those tests validates your language proficiency and can count in your CV as a proof of language ability.
If that is the case, then working within the CEFR can make the process of creating your language profile easier than ever. It will help you locate your current position and then make the decision yourself about what qualification you can obtain and how far you are from a particular language qualification that you seek to obtain.
In Egypt like in any other country
